CCN is thrilled to have performed pieces written by local composer, Rachel DeVore Fogarty. As a critically acclaimed and award winning composer, Rachel DeVore Fogarty was selected as the composer-in-residence for Schola Pacis in 2010, and has had pieces commissioned and featured by Schola Pacis, Millersville University, and the Concert Chorale of Nashville. Ms. Fogarty has won international and domestic composition contests, including the 2012 Festival Singers of Atlanta Choral Composition Competition, the 2011 IV Open All-Russian Composer Competition “Choir Laboratory XXI Century” Music for Children and Youth, St. Petersburg Russia, and the 2011 Joe Shepley Choral Composition Contest, Namaste Women’s Choir, Los Angeles, CA.
Additionally, she has had pieces selected for performance in the 2011 Vox Reflexa New Millennium Composers Forum CD Project, the 2011 IAWM (International Alliance of Women in Music) Congress, Flagstaff, AZ, and the 2011 London Contemporary Church Music Festival. Ms. Fogarty received her M.M. in composition and B.M. in piano from Belmont University. She currently resides in Nashville, TN with her husband, musical theatre composer, Kevin Fogarty, and Haydn, a manically depressed gray house cat on house arrest due to an addiction to methamphetamine.
